“For any postgraduate student, it is important to select a research topic that is of interest to you and a supervisor that is not only specialized in that field, but can also be a great mentor to you. I was fortunate to have a wonderful supervisor who helped me a lot when it came to better refining and understanding my research topic. The first year is mostly coursework and has its own level of challenges but the courses benefit to build a strong foundation on how to better refine your research objectives and research plan. The second year is when the process of conducting the research begins and mind you, it can be challenging, especially when I think back on my time conducting interviews with female resellers at the market and trying to be mindful of their time so that I don’t interrupt their marketing hours. However, it was during
those challenging times, that brought out the critical thinking and perseverance that helped build my interest as an aspiring researcher. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a post-graduate student, building friendships with other students, exploring ideas and making memories.”
