The School of Forestry has been training professional foresters for Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Pacific region at the Bachelor’s Degree level since 1972, with the first graduates in 1976. Most graduates are currently employed as scientists, administrators, and managers in various government agencies and private sectors, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and some community-based organisations (CBOs) within the nation and the wider Asia Pacific Region. Some of the graduates have become entrepreneurs within various communities and serve as community leaders in different roles throughout the Pacific.
