🧪 Laboratories
The CoEER has two main laboratories – the terrestrial and aquatic. The terrestrial lab is used mainly for studies dealing with the terrestrial environment. The aquatic lab is used for aquatic environment research.
Each lab has basic sample handling and preparation rooms equipped with dry and cool storage facilities and fume boards. Currently, these laboratories are mainly used for conducting research, handling samples and preparations.
Instrumental analysis of the environmental samples of parameters (nutrients, metals, etc.) of interest are done elsewhere within the University – PNG Analytica, National Food Testing and Monitoring Centre and National Analytical and Testing Services Ltd.
Please check the University website for the range of services provided by these laboratories.
♻️ Sustainability
Our approach to sustain what we do is simple. Work with people in areas of interests that matters most to the livelihood of the people – environment, climate change, agriculture, forestry, biodiversity conservation and management and research for development.
🤝 Partnership
The CoEER partners with key stakeholders, research institutions and universities internally, externally, regionally, and globally.
COLLABORATIONS
Key collaborators in R&D of the COEER include CSIRO, ACIAR, NARI, CIC, NDAL, GrowPNG, FRI, FPDA and more. Research areas of collaboration widely around land uses, agricultural and environmental sustainability, climate change and rural livelihoods. Regular researches dealing with issues within the extractive industries, biodiversity conservation and management are other regular research areas.
